Welcome to my boutique of Born Again Originals! Each item is a one of kind, not to be seen ever on anyone else, for I create my designs by starting with a discarded, thrift store find, then reconstruct, embellish with appliques, or mixture of other parts of thrift clothing, trims, buttons, whatever to ensure that each creation is different and never the same. Just as you are…a one of kind, so you have found the right place….come and spend a little time perusing through these designs. The work you will find is diverse and unique….an eclectic mix of materials, textures and patterns. This Kimono style jacket, I named “Toshi” is a one of kind, upcycled, reconstructed jacket in a deep plum and purple stripe fabric. Lined in a creamy silk (?) with chrysanthemum pattern. There was no size or fabric label inside this jacket when I found it in a thrift store. I added the round 7”pockets on the front, and I took a vintage Japanese tapestry piece I had and cut it to make design appliqued with tiny tassels on the back.( signature of artist of tapestry in the small square piece appliqued on back) I also added the frog closures down the from from a thrifted top. . I don’t know if this was a Men’s jacket or women’s, but I’m selling as a women’s jacket. See measurements below, I feel would feet a Medium size maybe large? The beauty of wearing refashioned clothing from secondhand items is to tell the world that you care about the environment I take that discarded item and give it new life in a new unique way. Each piece is handmade and any little imperfections, I feel is all part of the “hand” in the process. I design each piece as if I were going to wear it myself, thus difficult at times to see them go. But, it heartens me knowing that they are sent out with a blessing and maybe I may run into it again one day! This is a NON RETURNABLE ITEM! Please take note of the measurements below. Please measure a favorite outfit (not while on yourself) laid out on a flat surface, and compare the measurements I have provided. The current photos were taken inside under natural light and also under recessed lighting. Garment because of the wool, I would suggest dry clean or hand wash. from a non-smoking home.. The lining is very soft, could be silk or a rayon. The outside fabric feels like a raw silk or rayon, I would recommend dry cleaning.
Measurements: Garment is measured when laid on a flat surface and measured across or down on the front side.
Bust: Measured from side seam under armhole across the front only to other side seam 22 1/2”
Sleeves: Measured from center back of neck to hem of sleeve 36 1/4”
Length: Measured from back of neck to hem 28” Opening around the hem 47”
