Welcome to my boutique of Born Again Originals! Each item is a one of kind, not to be seen ever on anyone else, for I create my designs by starting with a discarded, thrift store find, then reconstruct, embellish with appliques, or mixture of other parts of thrift clothing, trims, buttons, whatever to ensure that each creation is different and never the same. Just as you are…a one of kind, so you have found the right place….come and spend a little time perusing through these designs. The work you will find is diverse and unique….an eclectic mix of materials, textures and patterns.
Sunny” fringed boho vest. Size Medium. Upcycled from a thrift find denim jacket, cut off sleeves and added ball fringe trim on right armhole and a tasseled trim on the other armhole. The bottom waistband of the jacket had been cut off to attach to make a shorter vest. The collar of the jacket was cut off with the seam left to fray. The fringe on the bottom of the vest is cut up suede jacket in a lovely dusty rose color and strands of braided multi-colored yarn. Approx 19-21” below the vest. There is a cotton eyelet lace trim around the bottom of the vest in matching color to the suede fringe. Front of vest filled with appliques of crewel flower, denim jean button hole, infant t-shirt pocket, Smocking scrap from a shirt, vintage doily, beaded fringe scrap, a black flower vintage pin, butterfly iron on, cross-stitch flower from vintage towel. On the back of the vest is a large Peace sign appliqued from flannel shirt, a butterfly from a tapestry throw with chenille tendrils, the word “love” appliqued from tapestry vintage throw and a butterfly patch and mini sunflower part of trim. Fabrics: the fabrics range from 100% cotton for the denim vest, to cotton flannel, cotton blends, suede, yarn. Recommend spot clean or dry clean only. The beauty of wearing refashioned clothing from secondhand items is to tell the world that you care about the environment I take that discarded item and give it new life in a new unique way. Each piece is handmade and any little imperfections, I feel is all part of the “hand” in the process. I design each piece as if I were going to wear it myself, thus difficult at times to see them go. But, it heartens me knowing that they are sent out with a blessing and maybe I may run into it again one day!

Please measure a favorite outfit (not while on yourself) laid out on a flat surface, and compare the measurements I have provided. If you have any questions about this garment please contact me prior to purchasing. I will gladly send you more photos. The current photos were taken inside under natural light and also under recessed lighting. Garment because of the wool, I would suggest dry clean or hand wash. from a non-smoking home.
Measurements: Garment is measured when laid on a flat surface and measured across or down on the front side.
Bust: measured from side seam under armhole across front of buttoned vest to other side seam 22 1/2” front side only
Waist: 47 1/2” measured around the bottom of the vest waistband
Shoulders: Measured from neck band along shoulder seam to armhole 6 1/2”
Length: Measured the front center opening to the bottom of the vest before the fringe starts is 15”. From the front center down to the end of the fringe approx 34-36”
