MacKenzie-Childs Circus Glass Goblet Pattern Rose   Pre-owned

This beautiful 7″ High glass goblet is hand-painted with enamels and lusters and fired.  This Goblet has been hand-painted with roses inside lattice, yellow dots, rose and teal stripes at lip and base. A gold band painted at top of stem and at foot connection.

Condition- nice vintage condition, no cracks or chips-

Logo stamp on bottom, old square VRMC logo without a date – goblets produced in early ’90s.

This goblet is a piece of history from the MacKenzie-Childs era when Victoria and Richard MacKenzie-Childs owned and designed at the factory in Aurora up until 2001.  Currently, this pattern and shape is not in production and has been retired for some time, so this piece is more collectible.

Victoria & Richard designed glass to complement the pottery dishes they loved dearly.

The glassware, when Victoria & Richard were owners and the only designers prior to 2001, did all the artwork onsite, then the actual painting of the glass was done in Ohio by trained M-C artists in factories with glass kilns.   After painting and firing several times (the glass had to be fired many times for the gold and platinum were fired at a different temperature than the glass paints, and the decals etc) the product would be shipped back to the Aurora factory for final completion, ribbons, brass dots, etc.  The completed product would then be packed and shipped out to retailers from Aurora.   Their fanciful, witty and charming patterns flowed easily onto glass and it came about and took off just when the fire broke out at the Aurora factory in the late 90’s.    This goblet is a wonderful complement to the Taylor series of dishes as well as their other patterns.

Hand wash, due to hand-painting and blown glass.

ALL of my M-C items unless stated otherwise, were hand-painted and made from the period when Victoria and Richard were owners and worked at the factory

MacKenzie-Childs factory sits upon the Cayuga Lake, one of the Finger Lakes in Upstate NY that spans 50 miles long.
