Description

This upcycled sweater/jacket “Hazel” has been reconstructed using Thrift store finds of a cardigan, jacket, and pullover sweater. Zippers, buttons and yarn add interest and texture with front pockets. Colors are brown, black, white, tan, cream. The brown tweed cardigan was added to on the bottom and neck area with a linen/cotton print jacket, black sleeves with white flecks then hand sewn yarn “tassels” around the neck, the pockets and cuffs. On the back is hand sewn a spiral in yarn, and yarn running stitch accents around armholes and down front placket, pockets and cuffs.

Fabrics: are unknown, a mixture- the cardigan feels like a boucle maybe some rayon and acrylic, the sleeves feel like some wool maybe they are soft, the print fabric looks like may have some linen in it, then the yarn is yarn several types used. Large misc. black vintage buttons down the front. Suggest hand wash, spot clean or dry clean this garment.

NOTE: Since this garment is made from second hand items, expect some minor wear. This might include gently faded fabric, minor pilling, or small areas where the color has become uneven. The beauty of wearing refashioned clothing from secondhand items is to tell the world that you care about the environment. Each garment is a one of a kind, thus the name, Born Again Original, taking that discarded item and giving it new life in a new unique way. I am not a professional seamstress, so my inside seams are not french seams and stitching is most likely crooked. This, I feel is all part of the imperfect “hand” in the process. I make each piece as if I were going to wear it myself, thus difficult at times to see them go. But, it heartens me knowing that they are sent out with a blessing and maybe I may run into it again one day!

This is a NON RETURNABLE ITEM! Please take note of the measurements below. Please measure a favorite outfit (not while on yourself) laid out on a flat surface, and compare the measurements I have provided. Also take into consideration the fabrics…knits/acrylic/poly give a little, cottons do not. If you have any questions about this garment please contact me prior to purchasing. I will gladly send you more photos. The current photos were taken inside under natural light and also under recessed lighting. Garment has been pre-washed from a non-smoking home.    Model in photo is a size M  5’5″ tall  115lbs  for a size reference.

Measurements: Garment is measured when laid on a flat surface and measured across or down on the front side.

Bust: I measured from the front side armpit across front to other armpit 21” . I measured 2” down from the armpit on the side seam and measured across the front to the other side seam (Bust) and that measured 20 1/2” the same as first measurement.

Waist: Measured about 6” down from the armpit on the side seam and across front to other side seam 20”

Hips: Measured about 7” down from waist area on side seam across front to other side seam 21” at widest area. The opening at the hem is 22” measured when slit was closed.

Shoulders: Measured from center of the back of the neck to top of sleeve 9”,

Sleeve: Measured top of sleeve seam down to bottom of cuff 25” cuff opening 4”

Length: Measured the front center opening to the hem 27 1/4” From the center back of the neck seam to hem 30 1/2”
