Upcycled Pickleball Shirts:” Mavis”
Welcome to my boutique of Born Again Originals! Each item is a one of kind, not to be seen ever on anyone else, for I create my designs by starting with a discarded, thrift store find, then reconstruct, embellish with appliques, or mixture of other parts of thrift clothing, trims, buttons, whatever to ensure that each creation is different and never the same. Just as you are…a one of kind, so you have found the right place….come and spend a little time perusing through these designs. The work you will find is diverse and unique….an eclectic mix of materials, textures and patterns.
“Mavis” The upcycled top has been turned from thrift store find Men’s sport shirt (no size tag see measurements below more like a Men’s Medium) pullover shirt reconsturcted into an unique fun pickleball theme shirt to wear. Show the sport you love, with this striped knit shirt of gray,black and lime green accent colors. Appliques of handmade pickleballs bring texture, color and design to what was a plain shirt. Bottom of the shirt was added on from another women’s thrift store tshirt. The sleeves have an added strip of scraps from another knit apple green shirt along with a ribbon made of surged seams cut from the inside of a shirt. There is a pocket on front with an appliqued pickleball and 2 pickleball appliques down the back. Fabrics:: The top part of the shirt was unmarked but is some sort of polyester blend; the bottom part of shirt is 100% poly; the green fabric also unknown but a poly blend I’m guessing. Since all are thrift store items the fabrics have been washed before reconstruction began. This is a NON RETURNABLE ITEM! Please take note of the measurements below. Please measure a favorite outfit (not while on yourself) laid out on a flat surface, and compare the measurements I have provided. Also take into consideration the fabrics…knits/acrylic/poly give a little, cottons do not. If you have any questions about this garment please contact me prior to purchasing. I will gladly send you more photos. The current photos were taken inside under natural light and also under recessed lighting in a smoke free home.
Measurements: Garment is measured when laid on a flat surface and measured across or down on the front side.
Bust: I measured from the front side seam at armpit across front to other armpit on the side seam 20” front side only
Shoulders: Measured from neck band to top of sleeve at shoulder 9”
Sleeve: Measured from shoulder seam to hem 9”
Length: Measured from back of neck to the hem 26 1/2” The opening at the hem is 43 1/2”
Top has no vents on hem.
