Description
This top “Helga” has been reconstructed using Thrift store finds from a Nordic design cardigan to a pullover hooded top. Colors are gray, white, black and spring green. This upcycled top was made from several thrift store finds as in a gray Men’s hoodie for the sleeves and the hood, a men’s striped dress shirt for the tails, a gray and black thin striped pullover knit top, and part of a green/grey striation knit dress. A small green pocket on the arm from a puffed vest and some small crocheted flowers from a cardigan….A pom-pom was added to the hoodie made from white textured yarn and cut up pcs of some of the fabrics used in the body of the garment-all textured pieces reworked into this one of a kind wintry pullover top. The pockets on front are set at different heights on purpose. I liked the staggered look, like climbing the Alps! lol!
Fabrics: The Nordic design fabric 64% acrylic, 25% cotton, 9% wool, 2% other; the green/gray striation stripe knit 47%rayon, 47%poly 6% spandex; the thin gray/blk knit 54%acrylic, 25% wool, 21% nylon, thin stripe dress shirt 60% cotton, 40%poly, green pocket 100%poly; pom pom 74%acrylic, 14% wool, 12%poly.
NOTE: Since this garment is made from second hand items, expect some minor wear. This might include gently faded fabric, minor pilling, or small areas where the color has become uneven. The beauty of wearing refashioned clothing from secondhand items is to tell the world that you care about the environment. Each garment is a one of a kind, thus the name, Born Again Original, taking that discarded item and giving it new life in a new unique way. I am not a professional seamstress, so my inside seams are not french seams and stitching is most likely crooked. This, I feel is all part of the imperfect “hand” in the process. I make each piece as if I were going to wear it myself, thus difficult at times to see them go. But, it heartens me knowing that they are sent out with a blessing and maybe I may run into it again one day!

Please measure a favorite outfit (not while on yourself) laid out on a flat surface, and compare the measurements I have provided. If you have any questions about this garment please contact me prior to purchasing. I will gladly send you more photos. The current photos were taken inside under natural light and also under recessed lighting. Garment has been pre-washed from a non-smoking home. Model in photo is size M 5’5″ tall 115 lbs for size reference
Measurements: Garment is measured when laid on a flat surface and measured across or down on the front side.
Bust: I measured from the front side armpit across front to other armpit 22 1/2” . I measured 2” down from the armpit on the side seam and measured across the front to the other side seam (Bust) and that measured 22”
Waist: Measured about 6” down from the armpit on the side seam and across front to other side seam 22”
Hips: Measured about 5” down from waist area on side seam across front to other side seam 23 1/2” The opening at the hem is 24” measured with the slit closed, so more room there
Shoulders: Measured from center of the back of the neck to top of sleeve 8”,
Sleeve: Measured top of sleeve seam down to bottom of cuff 22 1/2” cuff opening 5”
Length: Measured the front center opening to the hem 27 1/2” From the center back of the neck seam to hem 31”
