Description
The work you will find as diverse and unique….an eclectic mix of materials, textures and patterns. This Sitting Owls handmade purse was made from a table runner, upholstery fabric samples and a thrifted pocket from pants. All the owl feathers , faces and feet freehand drawn to pattern. Owl bodies are 3D with fabric “feathers” that lift up to uncover a surprise little mouse in the tummy! Han embroidered eyes with French knots and trapunto faces Button accents and dangling feet make up this one of a kind purse. The owls make the flap of the purse with the pocket on the inside. The purse is lined from the runner that was lined. Five different fabrics used on this item. I call it the”Peak” purse for the “peaks” climbing up the front of the bag. It also reminds me of a dinosaur’s back. The triangular pieces on the front and back act as pockets to slide in glasses or a paperback.
Bag measures 13” wide by 12 “ high.(not including handle) There is an inside pocket 6 1/2” x 5 “ The singe strap measures 34 1/2” and is 2 1/4” wide”
Fabrics: Cotton/poly blend, rayon, burlap type fabric. From a non-smoking home. Each piece is handmade and any little imperfections, I feel is all part of the “hand” in the process.
