Description
MacKenzie-Childs MacLachlan Octagonal Dinner Plate Porcelain 1990 from MacLachlan 1st edition
This beautiful octagonal dinner plate, measures 11 1/2″ the first edition, is a piece of history from the MacKenzie-Childs era when Victoria and Richard MacKenzie-Childs owned and designed at the factory in Aurora up until 2001. Currently, this shape is not in production and has been retired for some time, so this piece is more collectible. Sold each.
The plate, it’s shape and rope edge detail in purple and green, complement the MacLachlan porcelain line and can be used right along side the other MacKenzie-Childs Taylor pottery series or it stands beautifully on it’s own.
The plate blanks were made off sight at an Ohio factory of porcelain china where the decals were applied. The decals were taken from original paintings that were submitted to the factory to make decals that would fit to each plate shape. The scene on this dinner plate is of the studio house, old 2nd shop and factory barn in the background. It has the Cayuga lake in the background, but in actuality, the lake would be in the foreground across Rte 90 that the studio sits on in Upstate, NY. After decals were applied, they were shipped back to the factory in Aurora where the edges and gold accents were hand-painted and shipped out to customers.
There is a logo decal on the bottom showing the old original logo square shape with 1990 date and the name MacLachlan in script.
A true memento of history to display or use, keep or give as a gift.
Pre-owned, very nice condition
ALL of my M-C items unless stated otherwise, were hand-painted and made from the period when Victoria and Richard were owners and worked at the factory. Please contact for more photos or questions.
